History

B&N Inspection and Supply (“B&N”), based in Creve Coeur, Missouri, is a CVE Certified – Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) dedicated to consulting and inspection services in the areas of protective coatings and Certified Weld Inspections (CWI). B&N is a Association of Material Protection and Performance (AMPP) QP-5 Certified Inspection Firm.

B&N ownership and management bring over 150 years of industry experience. Our professionalism and the value we bring to our clients is evidenced by the fact we successfully participate in six Basic Ordering Agreements (BOA) within the armed forces, have Master Service Agreements in place with six of the nation’s largest engineering firms, and have serviced hundreds of projects for both state governmental entities and private businesses. B&N’s owners and staff bring the necessary background and experience to successfully execute any project.

Nicholas Lamm is President of B&N. Nick served with the 1st Ranger Battalion at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah Georgia and is an Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran. Nick graduated from University of Missouri – St. Louis with a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration. He has seven years of federal, state, and local government contract execution and project management experience. After serving his country, he worked as an Intelligence Analyst with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. He was later promoted to Contract Officer Representative (COR) and then to Program Management Execution Officer. While he was with the NGA he earned a master’s degree in Information Management and a master’s degree in Project Management from Washington University School of Engineering. Nick’s success is driven from his broad knowledge gained in the military, his education, and his experience in government and private business.
Derek Goff joined B&N in June of 2019 as the Director of Operations. Derek, a graduate of Purdue University, has over 16 years of management, construction management and protective coatings experience.  He is a NACE Certified Coatings Inspector – Level 3 and holds numerous certifications from the Society of Protective Coatings. Derek has excelled in the areas of construction management and coatings inspection on a wide range of projects including military bases, bridge rehabilitations, and the St. Louis to Chicago High Speed Rail.  Derek is B&N’s Technical Quality Manager with executive authority to implement and monitor compliance with quality management procedures as they apply to all coating and lining inspection activities.
Bob Miller joined B&N in July of 2019 as B&N Business Manager. Bob graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering and subsequently obtained his law degree at St. Louis University. Prior to joining B&N, Bob had 33 years of combined professional experience, nine years as a project engineer and twenty four years as a practicing attorney. As a B&N business manager, Bob is involved with all financial aspects of B&N’s day to day operations and also provides general legal counsel to the company on issues as they arise.
Jim Doarn is a fully certified NACE Coating Inspector and coating industry consultant with 40+ years of practical experience. Tenured and practiced in all industry elements; manufacturing, sales and marketing, application, engineering specification development and management. Trained and experienced in the disciplines of protective coating and lining applications; surface preparation, environmental constraints, failure analysis, testing, coating system selection and safety. Expertise in product knowledge, condition assessment, and problem solving.

Joel Ogle joined B&N in March of 2020 as Director of Sales and Business Development for the Water/Wastewater markets. Joel has over 30 years of technical sales, marketing and applications experience, the last 20 years focused on the municipal water, wastewater, and storm markets with emphasis in asset management, infrastructure rehabilitation and product specification. Joel is a AMPP Certified Coatings Inspector – Level 2. Prior to, during and after military service, Joel’s educational studies focused on Applied Science and Business Management.

Chris McDonald joined B&N in July of 2020 as the Director of Business Development. Chris graduated from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry with most of his time spent in steel manufacturing and building material distribution. Chris also worked at a regional architecture and engineering firm while in high school and grew up in the construction industry on job sites working for his father’s company in central Illinois. Chris is using his industry and sales experience to contribute to the continued strategic growth of B&N.
